Transiidikeskus container turnover grew by 2.2% in 2014

The tonnage of cargo transported in the containers grew by 8.5% in 2014.

Transiidikeskus AS general goods terminal handled 428,183 tons of goods in 2014. The total cargo turnover ofTransiidikeskus AS terminals was 2,895,419 tons, which is 6.5% more than in the previous year.

Russia's economic fall reduced in 2014 the growth ofTransiidikeskus.

"With the fall of the Russia's domestic demand and purchasing power via the economic downturn, the depreciation of the rubble exchange rate, the last quarter of 2014 was a fall for us," said Transiidikeskus AS Board Chairman Erik Laidvee.

Despite the hectic circumstances in international trade, Transiidikeskus invested last year in the company 6.2 million euros.
