The 3rd Estonia-Taiwan Business Forum was held in Tallinn, Estonia on October 1, 2014

The 3rd Estonia-Taiwan Business Forum was held in Tallinn, Estonia on October 1, 2014.  Estonian Logistics and Transit Association (LTA) and Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) have been working together for 3 years since 2011.  The meeting will enable the participants of both sides to renew friendship, develop new business opportunities, and encourage delegates of both sides to exchange views and share valuable information.

The Taiwan delegation, consisting of 18 members representing private enterprises, relevant government agencies and business associations, was headed by Mr. C. Y. Wang, Chairman, Estonian Committee, Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA).

The Estonian delegation, consisting of 24 members representing public and private enterprises, relevant government and trade promotion agencies, was headed by Mr. Deniss Boroditś, Member of the Parliament.

Both delegations expressed great appreciation for the meticulous preparations made by LTA and CIECA. They shared the belief that a meeting of such nature will contribute immensely to the enhancement of bilateral economic and substantive relations between the two countries.

The 3rd Estonia-Taiwan Business Forum dealt primarily with advancements of and opportunities for cooperation in the fields of “ICT” and “Logistics.”  During the session, Mr. I-Min Tong, Director General, International Cooperation Department, MOEA gave a presentation on “Taiwan –The Best Trade Partner in the Asia –Pacific Market.”  Mrs. Anna Piperal, Marketing and Project Manager, E-Estonia, gave a presentation on “ICT and Economic Environment of Estonia.”  Mr. Benny T. Hu, Chairman, Senhwa Biosciences, Inc., gave a presentation on “Taiwan’s Experience of Hi-tech Industry Development.”  Mr. Illimar Paul, Development Manager, Estonian Logistics Cluster, gave a presentation on “Advantage of Estonia Logistics Industry.”

In the afternoon, networking sessions enabled participants from both sides to exchange views and discuss possibilities of cooperation.

Both delegations believed that the success of the 3rd Estonia-Taiwan Business Forum would pave the way for further strengthening and expanding existing business ties between our two countries.

The venue of the 4th Estonia-Taiwan Business Forum will be held in Taipei on a date to be decided by both sides in 2015.
