Tallinn was visited by nearly half a million cruise tourists in 2014

The ports of Estonia's capital Tallinn were visited this year by 297 cruise ships, bringing to the city an estimated 480,000 cruise passengers, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

The largest number of visitors came from Germany – 25% of the cruise passengers, followed by the United States with 18% and Great Britain with 14%.

According to the polling agency Emor foreign visitors survey, a third of cruise passengers were in the age group 65+.

Cruise passengers visit more sightseeing objects, take part in excursions and eat in restaurants, cafes, pubs than in earlier years.

Cruise passengers evaluated the Tallinn travel experience highly. Two thirds of them gave a score of 9-10 points to Tallinn in a 10-point system.
