Port of Tallinn got acknowledged as socially responsible company second year in a row

On May 24th, the Responsible Business Forum in Estonia acknowledged 10th year in a row those companies that take into account the wider impact of their business activities. Among 70 companies that won the recognition, Port of Tallinn was given the silver quality label based on the Estonian Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (CSR) Index 2018 questionnaire.

Port of Tallinn participated in the category of medium and large enterprises. This year many companies participated in the CSR Index questionnaire and a record number of bronze, silver and gold quality labels were given out. In the medium and large enterprises category the following Estonian companies were rewarded with the gold label: Eesti Energia, Ericsson Eesti, ISS Eesti, Manpower, Ragn-Sells, Swedbank, Telia, Tallinna Lennujaam ja Tallinna Vesi, SEB Pank, Fortum Eesti, Ensto Ensek, DPD Eesti and ABB.

One of the priorities of Port of Tallinn is to implement corporate social responsibility (CSR) policies in its everyday activities. Since February 2015 the company has been a member of the Responsible Business Forum in Estonia to address CSR issues on a more systematic basis and contribute to promoting corporate social responsibility in Estonia. For the sustainable operation of Port of Tallinn, the welfare and interests of the key stakeholders (employees, local communities, customers) are important. Therefore, in addition to carrying out its core business the company seeks to provide added value specially in regard to these groups.
 
Port of Tallinn has assessed its responsibility and sustainability activities by completing the Corporate Social Responsibility Index questionnaire in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018. Based on the results of 2015, Port of Tallinn achieved the bronze level of the Corporate Social Responsibility Index. In 2017 and 2018 Port of Tallinn achieved the silver level of the Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility Index.
The Estonian CSR Index is based on a comprehensive questionnaire that takes into account the following business activities: governance and ethics, good employer, market environment and natural environment.
As a member of the Responsible Business Forum in Estonia Port of Tallinn has agreed to follow the forum’s Promise for Better Tomorrow.
