Port of Tallinn had a record September in passenger volume
The number of passengers who used the ports managed by the Estonian state-owned Tallinna Sadam (Port of Tallinn) grew by 2.4% year-on-year in September to 704,686, which is a record for the month of September.
The growth was motored by cruise passengers, of whom there were 45,469, by over 11,000 people more than in September last year. Cruise passengers formed 6% of all passengers in September.
In the main direction, Tallinn-Helsinki route, the number of passengers was 567,110, by 3,351 less than at the same time last year. On the Tallinn-Stockholm route, 71,409 people travelled in September, a growth by 3,850 in a year. On the St Petersburg route, 20,550 people travelled, a growth of 5,227.
Tallink serviced in September 60%, Viking Line 18 and Eckerö Line 13% of all regular routes passengers. The share of St. Peterline was 3%.
In nine months, 7.1 million passengers have used the port of Port of Tallinn, by 3.9% more than at the same time last year. 5.7 million passengers travelled to Finland, 721,000 travelled to Sweden and 141,000 in the Russian direction. The number of cruise tourists was 521,000, a growth of 19% in a year.
