Logistics Seminar 2012 – Rail Baltica

The 13th Logistics Seminar 2012 – Rail Baltica, organized by the University of Applied Sciences, will be happening on 4th to 5th April, in Tartu, Dorpat Conference Center.

The Logistics Seminar is an international event where the expected number of participants is about 350 people. The seminar focuses on Rail Baltica from a viewpoint of drastic road transport changes and also on overall new business concepts and models. We expect to have reports by experts from Estonia and also from other countries, for example Mr. Juhan Parts - Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications, Mr. Kaido Simmermann – Estonian Railways Chairman of the Board, Mr. Arnis Kakulis – Director of AECOM (who has done the feasibility study on Rail Baltica), Mr. Andris Dobulis – Director of HAVI Logistics Baltic region, Mr. Tiit Männiksaar - Siemens Ltd. Estonian subsidiary sales director and many other people connected to Rail Baltica (http://www.logistikaseminar.ee/seminar-timetable/).

Also there will be a video message from Mr. Siim Kallas – European Union Commissioner for Transport. The seminar will be moderated by Mr. Raivo Vare, who will direct a heated discussion on Rail Baltica. 

On the second day, 5th April, there will be an interesting tour to the recently renovated Koidula railway border station.

The main objective of Logistics Seminar 2012: Rail Baltica is to create a discussion on the usefulness of Rail Baltica, future expectations and impacts on the economy of the Baltic States. With the discussion, we hope to see if Rail Baltica is a profitable project or not. The Logistics Seminar will enrich students' knowledge, extending their expertise in the logistics field. Logistics Seminar 2012: Rail Baltica will give a first-time chance to listen to opinions by experts on Rail Baltica.
