Tallinna Sadam posts record passenger numbers for 6 month in a row
The number of passengers who used the ports managed by the Estonian state-owned Tallinna Sadam (Port of Tallinn) grew by 2.8% year-on-year in October 2013 to 716,609, which is a record year-on-year, for the sixth month in a row.
The growth was motored by Helsinki route passengers, of whom there were 629,924, by 11% more than in September and 2.4% more than in October last year.
On the Tallinn-Stockholm route, 71,078 people travelled in October, a growth by 6.6% in a year. On the St Petersburg route, 14,019 people travelled.
Two cruise ships visits brought 1,436 people to Tallinn.
Tallink serviced in October 63%, Viking Line 22 and Eckerö Line 13% of all regular routes passengers. The share of St. Peterline was 2%.
In ten months, 7.8 million passengers have used the ports of Port of Tallinn, by 3.8% more than at the same time last year. 6.3 million passengers travelled to Finland, 804,000 travelled to Sweden and 154,000 in the Russian direction.
