Up to 6,400 cruise tourists visit Tallinn

Two cruise ships that berthed in Tallinn on May 6th were to bring altogether up to 6,400 visitors to spend a day in the Estonian capital, it appears from data available from Port of Tallinn, cites LETA/BNS.

The first of the two large ships, Regal Princess, berthed in Tallinn at 7:30 a.m. and is scheduled to leave at 5 p.m. Having a capacity of 3,600 passengers, the ship belonging to Princess Cruises, subsidiary of Carnival Cruises, is the largest of the cruise vessels to visit Tallinn this year.

The second ship that berthed in the Old City harbor Friday morning is the Celebrity Silhouette, whose up to 2,800 passengers will also leave Tallinn around 5 o'clock in the evening. The ship belongs to Celebrity Cruises, a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Cruises.

Tallinn is awaiting 275 cruise ship visits this season, with altogether 460,000 passengers. Eleven of the ships will be visiting Tallinn for the first time. The busiest dates for the cruise area will be June 13 and July 7, on both of which Tallinn is set to receive five cruise ships bringing altogether up to 9,000 visitors.

In 2015, cruise ships made 280 stopovers in Tallinn and their total passenger number was half a million.

The next cruise ships are due in Tallinn on Monday.
