Port of Tallinn February freight turnover in February decreased by 24.2% y-o-y

Altogether 1.47 million tons of goods passed through the ports of Estonia's state-owned Port of Tallinn in February 2016, 24.2% less than during the same month last year, informs LETA/BNS.

Liquid cargoes totaled 776,200 tons, 418,000 tons less than in February 2015. The number of containers passing through the ports dropped by 1,800 twenty-feet equivalent units (TEU) to 15,435 TEU and the amount of goods transported in containers dropped by 7,000 tons to 130,300 tons.

Mixed cargoes contracted by 14,500 tons to 31,700 tons and bulk cargoes were down by 31,800 tons at 178,800 tons.

The amount of rolling stock handled during the month grew by 1,830 tons to 353,000 tons.

The ports received 134 visits by freight ships during the month, 13 more than in February 2015.
