A total of 13,346 tourists arrived in Tallinn during the start of the winter cruise ship season in late 2012, most of them from Russia, according to the Port of Tallinn.
The total was double that of previous year and represented nine ships' worth of passengers.
The season started on November 27, when a British cruise ship called in Tallinn.
On December 25, a Swedish ship docked, but the majority of the 11,500 cruise ship tourists over the holidays came from Russia.
In 2012, a record number - 8.84 million passengers - passed through the ports in the Port of Tallinn system. A total of 441,624 of them were cruise passengers.
