Prime Minister Andrus Ansip and a 15-member business delegation are on a two-day working trip to Tajikistan to develop political and economic ties.
Ansip will meet with Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov and President Emomalii Rahmon on Monday and will attend an economic forum on Tuesday, a statement said.
While the two countries' economic ties are currently not the closest - Tajikistan is Estonia's 105th-biggest trading partner - officials point to potential areas of cooperation such as transport, IT and electronic surveillance systems.
The business delegation accompanying Ansip includes representatives of companies such as the Port of Tallinn, EVR Cargo, Silport, CF&S Estonia and E.R.S.
Previous high-level visits between Estonia and Tajikistan include the Estonian foreign minister's visit to Dushanbe last year and Rahmon's visit to Estonia in 2009.
