FinMin: Estonia, Kazakhstan should cooperate more in logistics

Estonian Finance Minister Sven Sester, who was on a visit in Kazakhstani capital city Astana, said that Estonia could be a potential logistics partner for Kazakhstan in transporting goods from China to the Scandinavia, informs LETA/BNS.

"At a meeting [with the head of the Kazakhstan national railway company] we recognized that we have many similar interests which would be realized in the future," Sester said. He added that during the meeting Estonia's regional attractiveness when transporting goods from China to the Scandinavia was mostly mentioned as well as the speed, transparency, accuracy and correctness of doing business with Estonia.

Estonian logistics companies also took part in the meeting with the head of the national railway company Temir Zholy, Askar Mamin. Participants found that at present logistics cooperation between the two countries is not very active, but there are development prospects.

Sester also met with the Minister of Civil Services, Talgat Donakov, and rector of the Academy of Public Administration, Bolatbek Abdrassilov.

Sester's main goal for visiting Kazakstan was to take part in the Astana Economic Forum.
